02 February 2016 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | ||
SEVE'S SHIRE LONDON DEBUTS THREE-YEAR MEMBERSHIP WITH A DIFFERENCE BARNET, LONDON, UK - When you join Seve’s golf club, you expect something different – and that’s what The Shire London has been doing since opening in 2007. So the club’s new Three Year Membership product, like its other membership deals, gives golfers extensive and non-traditional benefits at a 27-hole golf club which combines luxury and taste with a refreshing absence of old-school attitude. Jeans in the artistic and spacious clubhouse are welcomed, as are mobile phones and laptops. There’s no Committee or Club Captain, but plenty of competitions and club teams to play in. There are no intimidating Reserved spaces in the car park, no limit on the number of Guests you can invite to play at the club, and there’s always sport of some kind on the clubhouse TVs, including pay-per-view boxing events. And from the moment you arrive, the drama of Seve Ballesteros’ only golf course design in the UK demands attention, with one of Europe’s most challenging 18th holes laid out invitingly beneath The Shire London’s commandingly-positioned terrace and putting green. Small wonder then that Seve’s club has become a firm favourite with many celebrities from the world of sport, music and TV, as well as the go-to club for many golfers who work in the City of London’s financial sector, since it opened in 2007. The Shire London’s modern attitudes appeal to people who simply want to play enjoyable, exciting golf course – rated among the UK’s top 20 by influential website Golfshake.com after over 150 user reviews – without any of the sport’s inherent stuffiness and barriers. Alongside playing rights on Seve’s two spectacular golf courses at The Shire London, all club members can also play at sister club the West London Golf Centre – just half an hour’s drive west – free of charge on weekdays. But as you’d expect the new Three Year Membership, offered for the first time to people who are not already Annual Members at The Shire London, contains exclusive extra benefits which honour a golfer’s loyalty. As well as offering a reduced-price pro-rata over the three years, the Three Year deal at The Shire London also includes ten complimentary golf cart hires per year, recognising the fact that many of The Shire’s golfers like to play Seve’s course on a set of wheels. This represents a £350 per year bonus to Three Year Members. The new Three Year deal also adds £100 value each year to your practice sessions, loading a giant £50 credit annually onto your range ball cards at both The Shire London and the West London Golf Centre. Plus there’s also a free and exclusive personalised gift for Three Year members, to acknowledge their long-term loyalty to The Shire London. The new Three Year Membership at The Shire London, available from March 1st 2016, costs just £3,600 in total, plus a £300 bar levy, As well as the exclusive extras it also grants unlimited 7-day golf on the 18-hole Tour-quality Ballesteros Masters Course and the 9-hole Ballesteros Academy Course plus advance online booking privileges, discounts in the bar, restaurant and pro shop plus reduced conference and banqueting rates, a free annual golf assessment with The Shire London’s coaching staff, and of course unlimited use of the club’s recently-renovated practice facilities, including a driving range with the latest technology and a versatile short game area personally designed by Seve Ballesteros himself. “We run this club very much with the spirit of Seve Ballesteros in mind” said director Cae Menai-Davis. “Like Seve himself, his golf club is friendly, fresh, engaging and attracts people from all walks of life. We are not afraid to tread a different path, we reward loyalty, and the owners are highly visible and welcome interaction with both members and visitors on a daily basis. “Like many golf clubs close to a major city we appreciate style and the well-turned-out golfer, but our dress code is far more relaxed than most. Whether you’re a fast-living executive from the City, or someone who likes to take life at a slower pace, The Shire London is a haven of luxury and inclusivity at a price which is hard to beat – especially with our new Three Year Membership.” Also new in 2016 is the 5-Day Membership, at just £925 per year plus a £75 bar levy, which is also being offered for the first time to golfers who are not already members at the club. Continuing in 2016 is The Shire London’s popular 7-Day Membership deal at just £1,490 per year plus a £150 bar levy Both the 7-Day and 5-Day Memberships offer a similar list of benefits to the Three Year deal, apart from the cart hires, extra range balls and free personalised gift.
