MAJOR MIDLANDS GOLF NETWORKING EVENT AT SEPTEMBER’S GCA ROADSHOW

Speakers announced for ‘Profit From Golf’ event at The Warwickshire

The next GCA ‘Profit From Golf’ Roadshow, at The Warwickshire on 3rd September, will be a key networking event for golf club operators and golf businesses within striking distance of the Midlands.

Representatives from dozens of golf clubs are expected to attend the year’s second Golf Consultants Association Roadshow, held in association with Ransomes Jacobsen E-Z-GO, following the well-attended event at Five Lakes, Essex, in late July.

High on the agenda at The Warwickshire is the hot topic of tee time yield management. Key speaker Neil Simpson – managing director of club management specialists Glendale Golf – will talk about the future of the tee time market, and how online booking is affecting this vital area for the industry.

GCA Roadshows take just half a day, including lunch, and combine brief presentations from experts with informal Q&A forums, keeping golf business owners and operators in touch with the latest industry developments.

The events also offer a good networking opportunity: since the launch of its Roadshow programme at Greetham Valley GC in May 2007, the GCA has attracted dozens of delegates from across the sport at each event.

Key speakers at The Warwickshire also include Gill Wilson and Howard Swan, who will update delegates on their exciting FIRSTGOLF initiative, which is developing in South Africa and in other countries as well as in the UK.

Plus Simon Jones of The Club Company will share his opinions on good customer service, golf marketing expert Pete Richardson will suggest how clubs can raise their profile locally, agronomist David Rhodes will take a look at the best modern greenkeeping practices, and Ransomes Jacobsen’s Nigel Church will discuss effective fleet maintenance.

GCA Chairman, Ian Bulleid, said: “On September 3rd we have our best line up of speakers yet. We chose our topics following feedback from delegates at previous Roadshows, and as a result the Warwickshire event will pack an incredible amount of diverse and relevant golf business advice into a single morning.

“ It should be another very cost-effective and popular event, and we are looking forward to meeting plenty of first-time delegates at The Warwickshire.”

Anyone from the golf industry can attend the event, which costs just £40 including lunch. The Roadshow lasts half a day, starting at 09:00, reducing the time delegates need to spend away from their businesses. Delegates will also meet several members of the Golf Consultants Association team, who will be on hand to dispense free on-the-spot advice on a variety of issues.

Places are limited at the ‘Profit From Golf’ Roadshow. For more information on GCA Roadshows, or to book a place at the Warwickshire event on 3rd September, contact Jacqui Baldwin at the Golf Consultants Association on 02476 414999 x207, or email gca@sportsandplay.com
