| ENGLISH OPEN 2009 MEDIA DAY AT ST MELLION INTERNATIONAL RSVP TO SUE@SUEBRADBURYPR.COM / 01872 863863 BY WEDNESDAY 27 AUGUST We invite you to attend a Media Day on Tuesday 2nd September 2008 hosted by the organisers of the English Open 2009, which returns to the European Tour schedule after a 7-year absence next August. DATE: 02 September 2008 The event provides an opportunity for members of the media to receive details about the tournament, to meet the organisers and to ask questions of the panel which will include representatives from the European Tour, from Crown Golf (owners/operators of St Mellion International) and from the St Mellion resort itself. There will also be an opportunity to play a round of golf, including nine holes of the refurbished Nicklaus Signature Course. The remaining nine holes are due for completion by October this year. The programme for the day is as follows: 1015 Coffee The English Open, a tournament that is steeped in rich history and tradition, is returning to the European Tour international schedule after a seven year break. It will be played at the St Mellion International Resort from 2009 for a minimum of five years. Crown Golf, which owns St Mellion, is the UK’s largest golf operator with 33 clubs. It is investing £100 million in a major redevelopment of St Mellion which includes building a new four star standard, 80 bedroom hotel, 265 golf homes and refurbished resort and golfing facilities. All the work is scheduled to be completed by July next year. |
